Breast Cancer is one of the most common types of cancers in human. The breast cancer is commonly known to infect women, but it can also hit men with minor percentage.
There are many symptoms of breast cancer as; Any change that would appear in the skin, or the nipples. Fluids or blood coming from the nipples. Change in the color of the skin of the breast. The appearance of tumors in any part of the breast.
Breast Cancer is of two types – Intraductal Cancer and Invasive Ductal Cancer. When the cancerous growth is limited to the milk ducts, it is referred to as Intraductal Carcinoma. When the cancer spreads from the ducts to other organs, it is referred to as Invasive Ductal Carcinoma.
Cancer is generally referred to as malignant growth of cells, which happens when cells grow at an abnormally rapid rate.
A woman’s breast is made up of milk producing glands known as lobules, ducts that drain the milk through the nipples, and other tissues such as fat, blood vessels, lymph vessels, and nerves. Though breast cancer may develop in any of these areas, cancer in the milk ducts (Ductal Carcinoma) is the most common form of breast cancer. Other types of breast cancer arise from the lobules (Lobular Cancer), from the nipples (Paget’s Disease), or in the form of breast inflammation (Inflammatory Cancer).
When the cancer spreads from the milk ducts to other organs, it is referred to as Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. It may spread into the surrounding breast tissue, and then into the lymph nodes and gradually to other neighboring organs and even to distant organs at later stages.
Invasive Ductal Carcinoma is further divided into three grades depending on the depth and the distance to which the cancer has spread. Grade 1 is slowly growing less aggressive type grade, where as Grade 3 is rapidly growing and more aggressive type. Grade 2 is something that lies in between these two grades.
