Patients of oral cancer – which involves the cancer that occur on the tongue, on the floor/ roof of the mouth, cheek lining, gums, or lips – those patients suffer from bacterial or fungal infections in the mouth as a side effect of losing immunity due to the cancer treatments especially the bacteria known as Staphylococcus aureus which became a life threatening as it was discovered that it is multi-drug resistant (MRSA). The Indian famous herbs might solve that problem as they fight the bacteria and fungus that are in the mouth of the patient, as the last researches reviled, the Indian herbs contain natural antibiotics that might help the patients of oral cancer.
The researchers team with Dr Jaya Parkash Yadav ahead on it are trying to benefit from the progress that natural medicine have proved about their importance in treating disease and tried to search for plant-based medicines.
Researchers from Rohtak, India, tested extracts from several plants used in traditional or folk medicine against microbials found in the mouths of oral cancer patients. Of the 40 patients involved in the study, 35 had compromised immune systems with severely reduced neutrophil counts. Eight of the plants tested were able to significantly affect the growth of organisms collected by oral swab, and pure cultures of bacteria and fungi grown in the lab. This included wild asparagus, desert date, false daisy, curry tree, caster oil plant and fenugreek.
